Summary

The Clinical Associate is a remote-based role accountable for providing education to patients to ensure they have patient-relevant disease and product information as well as an appropriate understanding of the clinical profile. This is a complex position requiring education for prospective patients to facilitate alignment and to ensure patients are supported throughout their journey in a most appropriate, compassionate, ethical and compliant way. The Clinical Associate will be the first point of contact for prospective patients who are interested in learning how to successfully navigate their treatment journey. This position requires strong communication skills to discuss a complex disease state and device as an alternative.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead efforts to provide patient-relevant disease-state and treatment education to patients.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing skills to empower patients to advocate for their own health needs.
  • Proficient communication with patients and internal stakeholders.
  • Become an expert in a complex disease state and the product device to be able to verbalize its significance to others.
  • Provide, proactively and in response to requests, relevant, approved patient-oriented disease/product information. Respect the privacy of patients and their caregivers/families and manage all personal information in accordance with all laws, regulations and policies.
  • Help patients connect with product device physicians local to their area
  • Act in full compliance with all laws, regulations and policies.
  • Utilize only approved resources and messages to perform function responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Market, disease and product knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Displays empathy with any and all patient communication
  • Motivational interviewing experience
  • Dedicated team player with patient-centric orientation
  • Demonstrated adaptability in ambiguous situations
  • Compassion and empathy toward patient population that can exhibit significant neurocognitive compromise
  • Self-starter who is action oriented and timely with follow-up
  • Proficient working in software programs

Job Requirements

  • Clinical background working directly with patients, experience in the Cardiology space is a benefit
  • Associate’s degree preferred or work experience equivalent
